I love America, (I gotta admit, I am kinda biased), but I will never understand why the American people are, almost, afraid to vote outside of a preconcieved box. The Democratic and Republican party both bring people to the presidential election that will serve as a representation of their party, not the representative of the everyday American.

I may offend people when I say this, but DO NOT VOTE FOR THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS! Vote for someone you want to win, period. Vote for someone who you think would be best for the job, vote for someone who you think would be a great leader, vote for someone who you think will be a correct representation of the everyman in office, not a correct representation of the top 10% in office. Sadly, until my fellow American's can vote without having a biased for soley either Red or Blue, this country will continue to, MAINLY, elect corrupt. (I will not deny the exsistence of some highly qualified individuals from both political parties)

As an election inspector in a small town, at the end of the day when our little computer spits out how the votes are tallied, only about half of the people vote straight party. The older women who worked the polls said there used to be paper ballotts in different colors and they went into different election boxes, one for Republican, one for Democrat. That is no longer the case, but many voting machines seem to make it easier to vote straight party ticket for people, and I think people choose that because they trust their party to know who is on there.

Personally, my voting is always for the person with the best ideas, morals, and record. And you really can't learn that from tv commercials, it takes some study. I am a conservative, environmentalist, small business owner, despise overtaxation, and against wars. Definitely more Republican in feeling on some issues, but sorta Democrat in some. If we get the right people to DC, and they get their ideas in the works, and work together for the country instead of fighting over party lines, our republic could stand strong, proud, and be its full potential. The parties are screwing it up.

Too many people areDems and Reps but have no real idea what these parties stand for. You'll get answers like,, the dems are for the minorities, as though the Reps can't be. The Reps are for the rich. Well, define Rich! If a Rich peron gives you a job and pays you well, what's wrong with being for the Rich?

The League of Women voters has been trying for years to educate the people in what the candidates stand for.

Voting strictly for party is wrong, stupid, but quite legal. How are you going to change it? I don't have a clue, but I'll never stop voting.

It's the set up for the american system ... That is how it was started when the parties divided. Honestly, Green House Party runners, those that do not belong to one party in particular, try to get to the ballot but are usually beat out in the first run of the campaigns. I don't think it will ever happen but they may reform and become more civilized later.

I vote strictly 0.33 social gathering and seem up what each and every candidate says. The candidate I voted for Senator while Obama replaced into working replaced into for state presented well-being care, anti-war, professional-gun, and professional-undesirable & working classification. no count if it incredibly is a compelled selection between a Democrat or Republican, I vote against the incumbent. If the two are new, I vote against the social gathering that controls the section.

You have a good point. I am a Libertarian. Most people seem to agree with Libertarian principles; yet, they continue to vote Republican or Democrat.

Vote for the right candidates and not for the party.

VOTE for your choice as US President on my 360 degrees blog and know who will likely win.
