one thing you might try is. think about somethen that is very dear to you, somethen that makes you smile and laugh. you are only thinking about bad things. just try the next time before you go to sleep, somethen you recalled as a child that was so funny that you almost had to go to the little girls room. good luck.

Lock you door. Get a night light. Talk to your mom on the phone for a few minutes before you get into bed. That will make you feel loved. Then read something calming at bedtime just before you turn out the big lights.

I don't know if you have any religious beliefs or not, but this prayer will protect you. Say:

Visit this place Lord Jesus and drive far from it all snares of the enemy and let your holy angels dwell herein to watch over us (me) and keep us(me) in peace. And may your blessing be upon us now and forever. Amen.

Then relax and go to sleep, knowing that all is well and that you are being protected by God and his angels.

Perhaps you could use some aromatherapy oils to help you relax before you sleep. A few drops of lavender oil on your pillow helps lots of people relax. Make yourself a checklist before you go to bed so that you can be sure the door is locked etc and you don't have to worry about such things. Don't worry about ghosts. Keep your eyes shut and try to block out thoughts of them. Stay away from horror movies. You will get used to the new noises of a new place. I live alone and get scared sometimes. I put the TV on timer and go to sleep with it on. It helps drown out the noise. Maybe you could listen to music. Put on some headphones when you feel afraid =)

Honestly if you are a religious person i want you to envision a gaurdian angel watching over you and know that you will always be safe no matter what happens. If not then you can get a body pillow and cuddle up to that. It usually relieves some pressure. Or find a friend and try to get a roommate that would be the best thing to do.

You will get used to the different sounds that you will hear each night. Floors creak, wind causes whistling noises, or causes things to flutter. Buy an extra chain lock for your door if you are afraid of a lack of security. Put a baseball bat next to your bed. As for the ghosts, tell them to go take a hike, unless it's Casper, the friendly ghost. You will get used to it in time.

Prayer can help. Maybe turn on a small fan to offer some "white" noise. Maybe use a dim night light. And try a teddy bear.

Talk to the ghosts, ask them to watch over you and protect you while you sleep.

A night light also helps.

Lay on your bed, finger tips on your breast bone, and breath- in though the nose out through the mouth, and talk through your fears, solve each one then set it aside. When you are done, go back to sleep.

Try praying before you go to sleep it really helps or otherwise listen to soft music when you go to sleep and set the time on the player to off itself. When ever I can't fall asleep I do meditation and it really helps.

Try some peppermint oil on the feet. It will relax you so you can sleep. You may consider meditation as well. Your mind sounds like it just needs calming.

Bless your heart!!
