Switch is better.

Hub just echoes the traffic of each node to every node. Switch actually filters the traffic so each node doesn't get extraneous traffic. (Well, that's the short version. You can go look up the long version on Wikipedia or Webopedia)

HUB and SWITCH both are used to connect computers to each other.

Main difference between hub and switch lies in the fact that they work on different layers of Network.
In easy words, when Alice sends a message to Bob, it goes to the hub, the hub can not identify to whom is it sent, so it sends it to all the computers attached to hub, with a tag that it belongs to Bob. Now when the Bob's computer sees the message it picks it up from the network traffic

The switch on the other hand, can identify which computer is that of Bob, and sends the messag only to Bob and does not broadcast it to everyone.

Obviously, Switch is a better option as it is not only more secure, but it also reduces the network traffic.
