Whenever I'm watching a Movie on my laptop, I notice the film of the show would briefly freeze, but barely noticeable and extremely irritable. It seems as if the laptop is not producing enough energy to play the DVD disc. I am not sure, but I plan to return my notebook to the manufacturer for a repair under my warranty. But I need to explain the dysfucntion clearly. How can I put this into words so they can understand the issue?

This issue occurs constantly. It just keeps frezing briefly, like makes a half of a second stop then go again.

No no no
Its not a bad video card

its called bad buffering of the video

from either a slow dvd drive or a buffer that is too small
so either increase the drive speed or buffer size

you can test this by making a copy of the dvd to the hard drive
then play it - it will not freeze

when you play VCD it will not freeze either.

This mostly happens with laptops or lower end desktops

You can thank me later

Out of curiosity, how often does this happen?

It is normal for it to happen every once in a while, but if it is happening more than twice on one movie, then there are some issues.

A better video card will not solve your problem...

I would say that the dvd drive does not play movies properly. The video freezes intermittently and is very annoying.

You could tellt hem," I put my dvd in the labtop, and the dvd is not scratch in any away and the screen freeze once the dvd starts to play the movie, and it bothersome." They will ask you if the dvd scratch and if you get rude with them or telling it irritates they will give you the run around. But be nice a firm. And they will give you the best service.

Sometimes this can be down to bad reception on the phone line.
