Hallmarks of neo-Victorianism: the return of class as the determinant of success, division between deserving poor and scum poor, women reduced to being sex objects, greed run wild, corruption, imperial war to get the oil.

I'm sorry, but when was any sex, sleazy? And where are these sex objects of womanhood you refer to. Not in my street matey. Your going to vote for someone other than Labour i take it. Well that's ok. We all get our say in the polling booth. I just hope your say doesn't raise inflation and interest rates for everyone. Mick

The minimum wage is a double edged sword.
It was bought in so that people will still not have enough to live on ,,but still earning too much to claim any benefits.
To make matters worse...Gorgon has done away with the lower tax band of 10% and increased it to 20%.

When you call for an ambulance dont be surprised if a guy, with 3 days First Aid training pulls up in a car with a First Aid box.
Targets to meet..see.
As long as someone,ANYONE, responds within 8 minutes..its classed as a success...never mind if you die.
If a proper ambulance shows up after 9 minutes..and you live...thats a failure.
Nothing to do with patient care..ALL to do with meeting targets.

Its called..Smoke and Mirrors government and some people are still blinded by it all.

Half of what you see seems to me made up. What imperial war? neo-Victorianism? Sleazy sex? How would any government have control over sex unless you go to a 1984 style situation. I am not a Labour supporter but I am against them for real reasons.

Yes, life was great under the Tories before 1997 wasn't it. Well except for the inflation that is. Oh, and no wage protection. And the negative equity. And the economic mismanagement.

and the war in Ireland.

and the stupidity of rail privatisation.

and the bigotry.

It's a nightmare, isn't it, especially for those who voted with such high hopes in 1997. We have been given everything you suggest, but perhaps the worst feature of New Labour is its attempts to intrude in our private lives and influence our actions. I get really fed up with their hectoring style - don't smoke, eat five fruit and vegetables a day, recycle everything, do as you are told, and be grateful. AND I also detest their obsession with numbers: targets which are manipulated to try and persuade us that everything is getting better, when the evidence before our eyes and in our everyday lives is that most things are getting worse. So long, Blair, and thanks for nothing.

Well, what'd you expect, having Dumbya's lap dog running affairs? Next time around vote for someone with a spine and some brain - balls wouldn't hurt, either.
