Yeah the War of the Worlds ending is terrible. I had read the book before seeing the movie, and remember thinking, "Man I sure hope they don't use that awful ending about the bacteria killing the aliens. That was so lame. What a cop out. That's the biggest Deux Ex Machina ever." Of course they used that lame, awful cop out ending in the movie. And even though it was Morgan Freeman telling me how our bacteria killed the aliens it still wasn't cool.
I think I'm alone in this but I've always disliked the ending to The Lord of the Ring: Return of the King. I think at least Frodo should have died. Not only are the eagles coming in and saving him a cop out (if they could do that, why didn't they just fly him over the friggin volcano), but the story lacks an element of sacrifice. Boromir dies, but as penance for his greed not so much as a sacrifice. Gandalf dies but only temporariy. So no one in the party has to sacrficice themselves soley for the purpose of destroying the ring. They all live more or less happily ever after.

Okay, I fairly disliked the Chronicles of Narnia. I cherished the characters and results and all that, however it simply wasn't what I assume it to be. When I learn the publication I imagined a lot more blood within the struggle scenes. But what are you able to assume from a Disney film? The Golden Compass used to be fairly dangerous, too. I surprise how dangerous Philip Pullman idea it used to be. The Grapes of Wrath, first-rate publication, dangerous film. Also, Twilight. the primary publication used to be all right, despite the fact that it had many flaws.... I used to be additionally compelled to observe the film, which sucked BIG time. HORRIBLE (sure caps lock is indispensable) actors. Such a tacky film. ---The Meh Factor: I believe you on The Goblet of Fire, however I believe this film variation used to be definatley higher than The Order of the Phoenix. I love the HP Series, however the OoTP used to be beautiful dangerous in comparison to the relaxation of the films. It used to be infrequently some thing just like the publication! ---Oh, I additionally believe Eragon and the Hitchhikers! (that might be a band title)

I'm not gonna say the ending really sucked, but at the end of John Carpenter's The Thing, instead of the 2 surviving characters just sitting there not knowing if one of them was invaded they should've ended by leaving that scene and then going to a big city court room where they are being charged for the murders of the rest of their crew. No one in the courtroom believes their story about the alien taking over people's bodies. And with the Kurt Russell's character on the stand, he suddenly starts shaking and The Thing jumps out of him toward the jury. (fade to black) :-)

I'll tell you what the worst ending ever was....the ending of Revolver by Guy Ritchie, where Jason Statham takes the lift to confront Ray Liotta by that swimming pool. Such a non sensical pile of rubbish, it didn't even have any credits, the lights just came up in the cinema and I was left thinking "Has the movie ended???, has something gone wrong with the projector??? because it explains nothing. People tell me it has the movie has elements of Kabalah in it because of his and Madonna;s love of it, but honesly I though that was the biggest load of driveI had ever seen......and just look at what he made before it Lock Stock and Snatch, two of the best 'gangsta' films of all time, utterly infuriating

Anyone see the movie "Cursed" with Christina Ricci? That was a pretty stupid ending. "The Village" and "The Wicker Man" were also horrible and you could see the ending from about 15 minutes into the movie.
Better endings would have included never making the movies.

Maybe not the worst movie ending ever but one that bothers me because I love the film is the ending to Unbreakable. I think Bruce Willis realizing what Samuel Jackson has done is enough. I don't think we needed to read what happened to the characters after that moment. It would have been so cool to fade to black and hear Samuel Jackson say "They called me Mr. Glass". It would've been a great set-up to a sequel.

The remake of the planet of the apes. He crashes back to earth and everyone was an ape. How the hell did that happen? I just woud have left him on the planet. War of the worlds was cheesy. And everybody's okay at the wife's house. Slap on ending.

IT the stephen king book turn movie. You sit through a 3 hour movie with a pretty creepy clown terrorising a group of people, then when they go to kill it the clown turns into like a giant cockroach...thats just dumb. They should had the clown embody each one of the peoples fears (cos thats what it played on).

Mine is the 'Wedding Crashers' - that movie is hilarious and I love it, but the ending totally sucks.
I love that everyone ends up together happily ever after, but the way they did it - tooooo cheesy! Puh-lease.
I can't think of a better ending off the top of my head, but anything could beat the real ending!

the number 23.
the ending just doesn't fit. it's almost like if you were to call the ending the first 10 minutes into the movie, you'd most likely get it right.
