One of the key things you need to know is that they only give you 20 or 30 seconds to strut your stuff so you have to get directly to the most interesting part of the song. That might even be the middle or end of the song.

I helped my cousin's wife find an audition song last year, she did Carole King's "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman". My suggestion....go for something that will make you stand out from the dozens of other singers they will see. You're a woman, how about singing a man's love song? They wouldn't expect that.

Check out some good ausie female artists. Don't do anything that is on the top 40 at this time because they'll here it 5 billion times and get pissed off. Try Sarah Blasko, she's got a good voice and she's known around australia. Try something that you can relate to so they can see your passion.
