Quarters, as stated, did not exist. But you would have used the value of a given weight of Gold/Silver etc. with the countries ruler usually depicted on one side.

Unscrupulous people would scrape small amounts from the coin in order to sell the precious metal. That is why you have a row of dots around the ege of a coin.

Coins were used as the main currency until relativly recently, when banking made promisary notes a viable idea.

Luck

Well here are two site to look at and see what they looked like. You really need to take your questions to the yahoo search bar and type in what you want to know that is what it is there for. Hey maybe someone has asked this once before and the answer is already there. But here is what you asked for.

As for the quarter there were no quarters back then our country was the first and only country to come up with how we add things up and measure distance. So in 1300 AD we had different names for the coins. The last site is about how our coins started and forgian coins became exempt from some places and how most were able to be used here for many years just read it and learn.

In what country?

America didn't BECOME a country until 1776 and that was 476 years after 1300. To my knowledge, America has the only "Quarter"... at least by that name.

Money wasn't invented until the 1950s. The Burger places realized it would be a good way to pay for milkshakes.
