Lets assume that some day animals will be granted most basic rights that we now call "human rights", which probably will happen.

Still we could argue that humans NEED some amount of animal meat for consuming, so some animals would have to be killled as less cruelly as possible to be fet to people.

¿Why not raise people for the slaughter as well? It they have the same rights, it´s perfectly reasonable, as long as no cruelty is involved. ¿Why not eat people?

No reason why not, cultures still exist that do (though they are small and basically invisible to most of us).

Our western culture has probably the most ludicrous and hypocritical position on death ever, there is a dire need for greater understanding, so thanks for poking at it with your question.

The Native American theology of eating animals is one I think our culture could do with adopting. They considered animals as their brothers in spirit and were ever grateful and reverent for the sacrifice made by the spirit of the buffalo to keep its brother man alive, the rights of the buffalo were (and are) sacred to the Native American peoples who believed, well KNEW scientifically lets face it, that a land of plenty for the Buffalo was a land of plenty for all, and a suffering Buffalo was suffering man.

In western culture the quality of nutrition in our foods has plummeted since we started treating the animals producing it for us so much more like the objects and commodities we have the arrogance to believe they are. We give no reverence to the sacrifice of any living thing for the sake of us and then propose to call ourselves christian influenced nations as though we understand the cross. As IF we understand the crucifixion. Actions speak louder than words and our actions say we are a bunch of mouthy hypocrites.

I'm not saying this for ratings or to make friends.

People have been eaten..there is or was a popular show in London, where the landlady killed men, froze them, and then made the meat into pies. They said they were the tastiest pies ever. But Caribbean means, human eaters. When Eskimos could not travel all winter and were starving they were known to eat the elderly, just to stay alive. There was a plane crash in the icy mountains about 25 years ago, and the participants, educated students, ate the dead who died in the crash. They had to, in order to stay alive, not only that they ate them 'raw'. But in the 'so called' civilian world, the people think and reason in a different way to the animals that hunt and kill by instinct alone, to eat...we have souls and do not eat each other, it would be considered, mentally sick.

There are diseases associated with eating people that would not be very sanitary, as well, that would bring into debate assisted suicide, would that be a crime if you were going to eat then? Or murder even, only certain people, what would these people raised for the slaughter know of human rights?
What would that do to criminal law? The idea is shaky at best to me.

We may, but not how you think. Scientists are actually growing muscle tissue in labs. Like big slabs of cow or pig muscle with no "animal" attached. It could be done with human meat as well.

Alternatively, the soylent green method is not a bad idea. It controls population, lowers traffic accidents, and feeds people.

We have a society. Cannabilism, while uncommon, has been observed in older human cultures. Although, not in quite the same way that you have described.

Fortunately, I am stronger and more agile than many. I would like be the eater rather than the eaten.

I'd eat people but there are some prion diseases you can get from human meat.

If I was on a deserted island with my dogs and some strangers, the people would have to go first.

The parents that gave birth to the humans being eaten would probably be unhappy. In addition even if somehow we could mass clone humans, it would just be inhumane, that's disgusting

Women eat tube steaks all the time, and men dine at the Y... that is probably the furthest it will ever get legally in western society.

Well Jeffrey Daumer did this, and he quite enjoyed his meal. I think if you eat people, your not going to be mentally capable to even think about the disease issues. Jefferey didn't. It's good to see all the smart people out there that can think about the consequences before they do something stupid!!!
