Might sound odd but place an ice cube in the dent left by heavy furniture and let it melt. Allow to dry naturally then vacuum.

Have you tried useing a strong vaccume?
Like the one's you rent at the grocery store?
Perhaps, you could poke a needle through, right
at the edge of the indentation, and poke up softly,
doing this at different sides, say an inch apart, in a
cicle, and all three sides, if it's a square.

Pour warm water in them and as the carpet absorbs it , the fibers will fluff back out. May take a couple of times.

I would use the ice cube method, then use a fork to fluff the fibers after it has dried.
