What is woman's status in different religions?

Women in Islam have had more rights than American women or hundreds of years. They have been allowed to own property; when such property is owned her husband and or sons have no rights to it. For hundreds of years she's been allowed on political seats. When she marries she is able to keep her own last name. These are some of her Islamic rights; however the general treatment of wives in Islam varies. Let me put it this way, generally the ideal way for an Islamic wife to be treated is like the Hope Diamond. That does not always happen. What I mean is for every one man who treats his wife like that there are at least six to seven others who treat their wives worse than Americans treat their dogs.
