I am thinking of a movie that I remember from like 10 to 15 years ago. I think it is about a surgeon whose hands develop a mind of their own. Then his hands do bad things and they cut themselves off. I vaguely remember at the end of the movie, there is a whole bunch of hands running wild. I also think that it might have been a short story, like Tales From the Darkside, but I am not sure. I really don't remember much but if anyone could let me know what movie this is, or maybe a website to go to where I could try and look it up, that would be really cool. Not to mention I would be able to sleep again.

....back in 1997, Stephen King and Clive Barker collaborated on a little made-for-T.V. anthology entitled "Quicksilver Highway". Christopher Lloyd starred as Aaron Quicksilver, who relates two tales of terror to two unsuspecting indivduals. One story (Stephen King's 'Chattering Teeth') had to do with a mechanical toy, which enacts a sort of vengeance on a hitch-hiking serial killer, who gets picked up by a businessman, who bought the toy. The second story (Clive Barker's 'The Body Politic') tells the tale of a self-centered surgeon who discovers that his hands are rebelling against his body; one hand cuts off the other hand, which escapes, and begins to rally the rebellious hands of all the other people in the city, to break from their owners and escape.

Originally released on VHS by 20th Century Fox, this tense, tongue-in-cheek horror thriller has since been picked up for DVD release by Anchor Bay Entertainment, and is still relatively available.

...does this help you at all???

You can try to find it at www.imdb.com they claim to be the earth's biggest movie database. It is strange what the mind can conjure up and then quit before it gives us the full details. I don't know which is worse not remembering or not being able to forget the whole thing.
