Haha, answered someone else yesterday and perhaps it'll be useful to you too.
My coach use to tell us this, in a game of football, its all about 50 percent physical, 50 percent skills - where physical fitness comes in to last and out last the game and your opponents, and skills to perform and produce results. So train up your fitness and skills. On the skills part, i personally feel that you have to concentrate a lot on the contact between you and the ball when you train with the soccer ball, cause every shot, passes, controls, first touches, headers and almost everything, is about how well you contact with the ball, whether on the foot, chest, head, thighs and any other parts you can use. I thought bout that point a few years back, worked on it, and it really improved my performances with the ball. And on the physical part, train up your body strength, speed, and stamina. Which takes quite long to build but well worth it. Practice lots, work hard, and good luck.

Determination and Discipline.
Thats it. If you are willing to put in 6-8 hours a day and focus on soccer, Even on weekends then you can do it.
That is why the US will never succeed in soccer. Its not about money or good coaches or equipment. Its about heart.
There is no trick to it, sorry to bring you no good news. Just work hard.
1. Be in shape. (3-4 miles a day of walking or running to start)
If you havent played before or are out of shape start of with walking.
2. What is your level? Are you a beginner? If so, start with the basics. Dribbling. Trick is to keep it as close to you as possible and be quick footed. With enough practice you can dribble with your head up.
3. Well, there is no 3. Just work hard at it.

you have to be in shape, you have to be a fast runner, i don't mean just fast at running fast at running with the ball, In soccer ur touches receiving the ball are very important specially if you are playing mid, joggling with the ball would help that, if u are a defender you have to learn how to get the ball without fouling, and have to have very quick touches 1 2 3 and pass, forward which what i played fresh year, have to be fast, and skill full and have to have an acquired shot,. the best thing for u is to try out for a club team ur age and that really helps you allot.

Well, ednurance is essential- if you want to be able to play for 90 minutes, start the cardio! No matter what position you play, you need ball handling skills. Finally, be a team player- with that many people on the field, it takes more than one person to win a game. Good Luck!

oh...woah..woah hard core is just so crazy...she thinks soccer is gay..omg
whatever...learn to shut your mouth mate. No-one cares what you think apart from you big head.
Anyways, aside from the distraction...lets see if I can answer your question.
In terms of tangible things: the equipment you need is,
Soccer boots, shinpads, socks, shorts, shirt, mouthguard if you want one.
In terms of intangible things, (i.e. those which aren't items)
soccer players generally have:
- good overall strength
- good aerobic fitness
- quick/fast
- good co-ordinaton
- good concept of what is going on around them
- can 'read' the game (i.e. anticipate the movements of
others)
- good vision, and keep their head up

Follow the three C's condition condition condition. Build your endurance. Otherwise it is how you get good at anything else practice practice and more practice. Find someone who is better than you, see if you can have them mentor/coach you, or play against them so you can see what they do. Then try and do it yourself over and over again. Video games will not help you at all.
