Specifically I'm looking for this one band where the lead singer had these really thick-rimmed glasses. He kinda looked like a nerdish dude. Their music might not quite be considered rock. I think they were all african american, but I'm not sure I could be wrong. They were on Jimmy Kimmel a few weeks ago, so I'm sure they're fairly recent.

they are not EW&F (although a great band I love). They are all new, from what I know. one of the guys had a fro.

oh, and all of them except the lead singer was playing an instrument. They're not hip-hop, rap, etc.
