Why would you give up?If you know he likes you,and you feel the same,cut him some slack and help him out a little,it doesn't have to be overbearing or pushy,maybe he is just a little shy and or insecure that you might not feel the same way,balls in your court,roll with it.(o.k. I just asked the boyfriend and he said yeah,your right you had to hit me over the head before I knew you liked me.)

If they won't come out and say it and I know that they like me, then I would simply ask them how they feel about me.

no i did that from june of last year til aug
but for me it ended cause i moved
but again im moving back in summer
but for you i hope you dont give up
you dont know whats gonna happen if you give up
try it out and let it play it out like it should be

Not until I put them on the spot. If I like them too, I make sure they know it. If they cannot pursue it after I've confronted them with it, then it's over.

After a while, I would probably approach them very carefully, try to have a nice, long, pleasant & interesting conversation with them and eventually ask them out, at long last!

that happen to my friend, a guy like her and she like him back, and he even said that he didn't want a girlfriend. so after a while of her waiting she got herself a boyfriend, and when he knew about it, he said to her i thought we had something, so she said well you never make a move.
