OMG girl! why would you ask such a question? Do I understand that you responded to his compliment with a blank stare? Learn how to accept a compliment graciously without wondering if it's weird. Hopefully in thinking about this guy, you've noticed other things that might help you decide if he's weird or not, just the earring compliment isn't much to go on.

If you have unique earings then yea it's ok. If you are wearing basic earring like studs or basic loops then it's kinda odd....
