Provisions such as food, water, fuel, and if you are going high enough you will need oxygen, and some type of waste disposal, or hang it off the side.

the first man to actually ride a balloon in the Atmosphere was testing a radiation protections suit... so you would need a really good suit to protect you from the suns harmful rays, a healthy supply of oxygen to breath of course, just a guess but maybe some water, a parachute for your landing, a comunicator for obvious reasons, and a couple of good luck charms cuz your gunna need em....But that all depends on how long your going to stay in the outer realms of Earth....

Most of the first ones took things such as caviar, good cheeses, cold cuts, crackers, and fine wines. It was considered very 'in' and chic to have a fancy picnic in a balloon while lookjing down on the World.
