Mode is the most common number. In the first example, there is nothing repeated so there is no mode. In the second example, 8 is repeated twice and 10 is repeated twice, so there are 2 modes: 8 and 10.

hi! the mode is normally the one that occurs most often. i don't believe the first set of numbers has a mode. the second set appears to be 9 since there are 3 of them! There can also be more than one more say for instance the second set of numbers was 9, 8, 10, 9, 8, 9, 10, 8 then the mode would be 8 and 9 because they both occur 3 times or another example would be 53, 45, 23, 60, 23, 98 the mode in the one would be 23 since it occurs twice! hope this helps! :)

The mode is the name given to the number that occurs most frequently in a string of numbers. The numbers are just made up at times in order to teach the concept. Here is a real life example of using the mode.In a group of people of all ages find the mode of the ages.1,3,2,8,4,19,2,4,27,2,5,2,21,23,2,17,2.
The number that repeats most often is 2,and there are four occurances. The number 4 repeats itself twice,so it is not the most common number or the mode.

There is no mode in the first series of numbers and there are two modes in the second series:8 and 10.

It is quite OK to ask the question, ignore any critics or detractors.

As a final example to help you understand.Let us say that everyone in your town were counted in a census. You would have people of all ages, but there is going to be an age group that has the most people in it.
If for example there was an age group of 36 and it had the most people. The mode of the population of your town would be 36 years.

The first set has no mode because no data value is repeated more then once. The second data set has two modes: 8 and 10, because both values occur the same number of times and more then any other values.

the mode is the number in the sequence that appears most often. so, in the following sequence... 5 6 7 5....the mode is 5 because it appears most often.
