How to get rid of acne pigmentation?

I have this mositurizer which is called Alpha Hydroxy. It has salycic acid in it. It heard this can help spped up the process of getting rid of acne marks. I only apply on the marks and it stings a little. Is this ok?? Please advise....Thanks!!!

Salicylic acid exfoliates the skin so it will speed up cell turnover, but it will likely take a long time and it is irritating.

They make skin whiteners you can buy which lighten pigmentation. You can find a whole bunch on Sephora.com:

A big thing too is to make sure you wear SPF as red marks get redder and/or browner in sunlight. Especially when using treatments, your skin is more vulnerable to the sun.

Time will help fade them too.

A dermatologist will be your biggest help, though... we don't know your skin type so some suggestions won't be helpful.

People are probably gonna think I'm very stupid but this is what works for me. So, I did this a few months ago because I'm not the smartest. Keep that in mind. Acne is caused by bacteria growing in and under your skin right? So I absolutely thought that if Hand Sanitizer killed bacteria, why can't it kill it on my face? Andddd that lead to me putting some small amounts of hand sanitizer in my T-zone and other practical places.I do this about 2-3 times a day and that works really great for me. No more acne.

Another thing I do is, if I'm in a melt-down situation, I grab a piece of ice and rub that all over the acne for 1-2 minutes. (Or until it's completely melted.)

I also use this Carrot exfoliating face wash with beads in it. It smells weird to me but great to others. And leaves your face really soft.

That will do, but there is another product that works really great, it's call Acne Free Advance Oxygen Peptide Scar lotion, it won't cause more acne, but it helps with healing I got it from Target, also Vitamin K also works wonders, I also like Scar patches from any drug store, which is expensive about 30 dollars and you can put it on at night before you go to bed.

While it took little less than two months for me to really see a difference, my acne, blackheads and whole lot of other skin problems I had such as eczema had completely cleared! It was totally amazing...

Seriously though: do the following- it works for me!
(I know this is wierd but it works!)
-spread a very thin layer of mayonnaise on the spot
- leave this on for about five minutes.
- wash face, and repeat twice a day

this clears it up within three days! I dont know why it works but I'm so glad that it does!

i have used proactive and still do! They have a product that skin lightening lotion and it helps with the discoloring of acne,it doesnt smell the best but i use it at night and it works!
