how can you get hired at stores like mervyn's or hollister maybe forever 21 to be a mystery shopper for stores like these or any other store in general?

There are a lot of scams in terms of mystery shopping jobs so beware. I suggest you go to the National Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) http://www.mysteryshop.org , an organization of mystery shopping companies. Check out their listing of shopping assignments by country and by state from member companies. Companies are accepted as members of the association only if they have been in existence for two years and they can submit proof of business existence. Make a list of these companies and check out their requirements to be a mystery shopper.

If in doubt, double-check the company with the local Better Business Bureau http://www.bbb.org , usually under the Service Intelligence category. Find out if any complaints have been lodged with the mystery shopping company, before agreeing to do work for them.

You have to register with Mystery Shopping Companies.
You do not get hired by the store.
The store hires a Mystery Shopping Company.

When a shop for a particular store is available, you have to apply to the "Mystery Shopping" company that is offering the shop. It may be for Mervyns, Holliser, Walgreens, Rite-Aid, CVS or any other other retailer.

You have no control over which Mystery Shop assignment will be given to you.

You won't know which Mystery Shopping company, does Mystery Shopping for Mervyn's, Hollister or forever 21.
They may not use shoppers. Not every store uses Mystery Shoppers.
