Gary Numan? What's so bad about him? That's bad. Nobody should be banned from their favorite music unless it's real crazy gothic or swear- swear- swear hip hop. I read up about him, he's not only an artist, he was also a pilot too. Put it this way, it's like your mom's parents taking away her Elvis Presley records. He's the king, come on! Musical tastes are different among all of us. I can't stop liking a lot of bands as well. Personally, I like Disturbed and Linkin Park the most. I have all of their CD's (except for LP's Live In Texas). Just because your mom may not like Gary Numan doesn't mean she should ban his music from you.
By the way, does she buy the CD's for you? Or do you buy them yourself? If so, it could be worse, right? You can buy drugs. Now that's worse than building a CD collection. 100% worse. Maybe your mom knows that he has tons of albums? I don't know, but it's your money and you should have the right to spend it however you like, unless it's something bad, which it's not.
Tell your mom that I have 3000 songs in my computer. That's bad. 4 CD's? Come on, I have over 200. She has to give you some freedom. It's all a part of growing up.

Can reader focus on Gary Numan in other ways? Is there a
fan club on line where you can chat with others that know the music? Has reader attempted contact with the CD Label to
request band/artist snail mail or E-Mail information? What are the music magazines saying? Have you checked issues
dating back to the start of band/artist for additional history?
Can reader pull enough research into her lap to consider writing a book for a publisher or school education credit?

Don't worry too much about it! Gary Numan only had about 4 albums anyway! LOL! All great I might add. 'Down In The Park' and 'Cars' my 2 favorites but everything he's done was New Wave precision! :-)

nicely, I definitely have 10 equivalent widely used bands and artists, yet for the income of conserving it short, i'm going to concentration on the band who've been a widely used for the longest. ~*~ Fleetwood Mac ~*~ I first heard them in early adolescence, in fact, probable only before or not long after delivery. i develop into born interior the early 80s, so the two cassettes consistently on interior the vehicle {in between The Beatles!} have been "Rumours", and the 1970 "best Hits" album. In 1987 we extra "Tango interior the night", and then the 1988 "best Hits". Thank heavens for that first GH tape, for the reason that develop into the Peter eco-friendly era of Fleetwood Mac, from 1967 - 1970 {which contains Danny Kirwan's single 'Dragonfly'}. This gave me an early appreciation for the unique Blues-Rock sound of the band, besides as their mid-70s AOR sound {i did not fill-in 1970-1974 till final 300 and sixty 5 days}. So, my album of decision develop into continually "Rumours", and together as i'm prepared on the whole album {each and every music taking me lower back to adolescence summers}, the two songs that usually stood out for me have been 'desires', and 'The Chain'. one greater reason I enjoyed 'The Chain' develop into because of the fact I grew-up observing BBC coverage of the formula One Grand Prix, and that they used it because of the fact the subject music ~ while that end bass-line kicks in, i'm able to nonetheless see the photos of vehicles lining up on the grid, the lighting fixtures furniture turning eco-friendly, and... nnnnnnggggggghhhhhh>>>>>>>>> * I see the numpties are in lower back this night...

Your mother may be concerned that you are becoming obsessed. Mothers strive to protect their children. Talk to her about this; if she didn't care she wouldn't give you guidance.

ask for his CDs for your birthday. Tell people which ones you already have, so you don't get duplicates.
