Yeah dude. I'd want someone with one of those weapons with the laser sights, so he could put a red dot on his head like it was part of his religion, then put a hole in it big enough to shoot spitballs through after his god awful carcus was sat up in a chair.

I want someone with balls of steel that would know how to disarm an aggressor!
Somebody with martial arts skills that can kill your @ss with a pencil from 500' away!
Someone that isn't afraid to lay their life down for their fellow man, knowing they can take down the psycho before sh!t hits the fan!
That being said.... guns are an easy way to handle situations.
Training your body and mind to protect and defend takes a lot of hard work and effort.
The real problem is societial and civil dysfunction. TV broadcast it 24 hours a day, internet is diseased with it, families are living in it and teaching it to the next generation, countries are destroying each other because of it.
When morals and ethics are corrupt and it's everybody for 'himself', dog eat dog, "I have to get mine first!" way of being and interacting as a society, I'ts no wonder that there's not more wacked out individuals like Cho out there.

One of the guys did! As a matter of fact they interviewed him on GMA today. He and his buds heard the gunshots down the hall coming closer, and closer. The guy tried to open their door. He got it open about 6 inches. The students pushed tables against the door, and blocked it. The guy emptied his clip into the door. He reloaded per the student then walked away.
The student said he was exhausted, and his brother came to pick him up to go home for the weeked. There is probabaly a clip at the GMA website if you want to check it out.

There was another class that the gunman failed to shoot at. All the students grabbed desks and threw them against the door so he wouldn't go in. I think that was a very smart thing to do and every school should apply and teach classes to do in situations like that. I am totally against any weapons in schools. You can NEVER trust absolutely anyone.

One of the professors that had dealt with Cho said that she wished that guns weren't allowed on campus, but I agree with you. If I had been there and I had been armed, I definitely would have shot him, and would have shot to kill. Gun control laws have some effects, but criminals don't obey the law. Cho wasn't supposed to have a weapon on campus (as I understand it) and he brought two of them anyway. The Columbine killers would have used pipe bombs if they didn't have access to guns, so banning all weapons is not possible. When someone is killing the innocent and the only way to stop them is to kill them, the killing is justified. Its called "self-defense", or "defense of the defenseless".

Regardless of legality, criminals are going to have guns. If someone is planning to shoot people (Like Cho was) he could've got his hands on one. Even if they were illegal. The only people who would be affected by banning fire arms are civilians who want to protect themselves.
And yes, I would've wished my professor had a gun. It certainly could've saved a lot of innocent lives.

weapons are not the best solutions in most cases... but true, in that case, if I had a gun I would have shot him without hesitation... but even after killing and persuading myself it was a good thing, it will still be in my mind "I killed someone" and I don't want that... V Tech is a huge campus... they should have safety at that level too... there should be surveillance camera in the hallways and the entrance, and metal detector at each entrance and exit of buildings...

I'm doing a project at school for my class "Goverment" doing it on Anti-Gun Control. The shooting incident is a perfect example of why we should not ban guns. of course my oppenent can use the same story agasint me.
