because for the next 50 years they can say they drove the infidels out of the middle east and people there will believe it. if pelosi gets her way they will be right.

Where did you learn your world history, American Idol?
We had permanent bases in Saudi Arabia when we were hit on 9/11. That was the #1 motivation for bin Laden, a Saudi. The vast majority of the perpetrators were from Saudi Arabia. We've since pulled out of Saudi Arabia.
Why would they have to follow our soldiers home to get here? Were there retreating soldiers on 9/11 that they used as human bread crumbs? There's nothing about our occupation that makes it any easier or harder for them to come here and kill us - the only difference is it's like take-out food. We delivered over 3000 American deaths right to their doorstep, and they didn't even have to tip us.
Is that really how you want to fight the war on terror? Sacrifice our bravest as cannon-fodder so they won't have to bother to look for you cowering in your closet?
Here's another clue - 99% of the killing in Iraq has nothing to do with terrorists, and everything to do with the sectarian civil war there. We have nothing to do with it except we keep standing in the middle, or are preceived to be taking sides.
If we leave, they will continue to try and "settle" their grudges with each other. They ONLY care about us because we are there. If we're gone, they won't.
There was no anti-American terrorist presence in Iraq before we went there, and almost none of the violence against Americans now is because of terrorists.
Use your brain.

Osama bin Laden said himself the reason for 9/11 was the USA blind support of Israel against the Palestinians so why are you in Iraq at all
.And look I know that Bush isn't that popular but if someone overseas decided he wasn't fit to run YOUR country invaded and hung him I am sure there would be a few protesters.
Bush has created a very precarious world and he has backed himself into a corner in the process and the only way out is to tuck his tail between his legs and leave and hope he didnt cause more harm to his country in the process sometimes it takes a great man to accept he is wrong.

What if we won the war in Iraq tomorrow? Would some terrorists follow us home? What if we are in Iraq for 20 more years? Will terrorists come to the U.S.? What if we stupidly decided to kill all billion Muslims? Would some of them survive and come to the U.S.? Yes, yes, and yes. This will be going on for generations and to fight terrorism in this manner will only destroy the United States in very short order. A hundred billion here, a hundred billion there. Every six months a hundred billion dollars. Somebody better start facing the reality of the situation.
So-called winning in Iraq or so-called losing in Iraq isn't going to change the terrorism situation as it relates to our country. The effects of the Iraq war are leaving our country vulnerable to attack by using up our military and equipment, not to mention bankrupting us.
I support the U.S.A.

I think the Jihadis are hoping to influence our elections in favor of the cut and run Democrats. They were successful in Spain attacking and changing the government to a more passive one.
It is only a matter of time until they attack us again at home. I do not want them coming here. I would rather that we fight them in Iraq and Afghanistan by far.
I do not want to provoke anyone into attacking America, but I do not believe it is Americans who are causing this AT ALL.
There are lots of organized anti-American groups in the world.
Our existence and their beliefs about it bother Islamicists. We don't need to do anything other than what we're doing. Just seeing Anna Nicole and Brittany Spears on the news makes them crazy.

I don't think they will, they don't need to.
They are among us now! They are known as "homegrown terrorists". We have fostered them in our foreign enclaves and allow them to spew their hatred in their mosques and madras'. They refuse to assimilate; they bring their own religion and sick beliefs with them. This has taken them years to be accepted in their communities.
We have seen their attitudes: at the airport in Minneapolis and for a long time in the UK. They demand rights and privileges for themselves that may have taken a native-born years to achieve.
Look at all the investigations conducted by the BATF, FBI and CIA with arrests and convictions.

If they wanted to come to the US what would stop them now?
We have not closed the borders of Iraq or Iran. "If we don't fight them there we will fight them here" is a ridiculous arguement.

OK, let's pretend we were invaded by Canada (yeah, I know, just bear with me). if that happened and when we kicked them out, would we follow them home to fight them there? At that point, they'd be defending THEIR homeland.
