Yes, assuming that God exists, that in itself (existence) does not entail goodness. But theists seem to want to believe God is good none-the-less. This is perhaps due to the idea that God is the supreme creator which again, does not entail that this force or entity is good, merely that it created us. For God to be good, God would have to be able to choose between right and wrong (though it may never choose wrongly) by having a system of ethics seperate and recognizable from itself. Otherwise God is amoral. What makes God good? It would have to be wise enough to never choose wrongly and tell the rest of us what it is. Meanwhile we would have to be able to put these principles into action to confirm them as good. Unfortunately for any theist, practicing their religious principles as set forth by whatever god they worship does not free them from the evil that other men do, or the evil inherent in the forces of nature. So, if God IS the creator of all things, it must have created evil, and that's bad. Ergo, God has no qualities that make it good.

You say he is good and at the same time you read where he has killed many for what we would now say is no valid reason.
Blew up a city and killed them all and even turned a woman into salt.
Closed the red sea around an army and killed them all.
Flooded the earth and killed all but one family.
That is just a little tiny bit of what he has done to us over time and he still is at it.
How can you call this a good god. I don't think he is good at all.
Then god only wxists in peoples minds so you cn make of him what you want and lie to yourself about it.

The scripture here is helping us to appreciate that Jesus is the invisible image of God meaning that when on earth Jesus reflect all of Jehovah qualities perfect as Jehovah would had done. Everything was created thru Jesus because Jehovah God allows Jesus to be his master worker.

I suppose I favor the new testament description of God.
Loving, kind, wise, intelligent, patient.
You need to understand that suffering in this life is insignificant to the joy of the next life.

uhh.... the devil makes the God good... if there is no devil, there is no God...
Perceptions of God and praying practices vary across all religion... who knows, all of us MAY be praying to one God, just that we communicate to Him differently, like how we have different languages and communication practices. what do you think?
