Wishing we win will never change the situation in Iraq...

Imagine a builder building your new house on sand without foundation, it's inevitably gonna collapse. right..?

This war was ill conceived, ill fought and badly administered by a bad administration.

When will Bush face trial for the deaths of 4000 American servicemen/women?

It's not in the Fascist Agenda manual, and Bush needs a one way trip to Gitmo - all expenses paid.

The war is not lost. How can you say that? What do you base it on, the fact that is isn't over yet? No war is ever over until one side or the other either surrenders or is driven from the theater. The only way we could possibly loose is to quit prematurely and withdraw.

If we withdraw before victory, defined as a stable Iraqi government capable of providing it's own security, that is when we will loose. If we stay until that has been achieved then we will win.

You say the war was fought badly and we have 4,000 casualties. The enemy has taken nearly 40,000 casualties. How do you consider that "fought badly"? How many battles have we lost?

A house with no foundation? The election in Iraq was the foundation. The problem now is only the jackasses that want to kick down the structure.

We have accomplished far more than "wishing" in Iraq. But granting hope to the Iraqi people is a good thing.

include it toddler... Libertarians ARE Liberal... it extremely isn't any longer a foul observe except you're making it one... You do understand that "Liberty" and "Liberal" share the comparable root observe interior the English language for a reason, astonishing? the only people who sell the concept "classic liberalism" is someway distinctive from "right this moment's liberal" are conservatives. they have been attempting to slander liberals like that for over 2 hundred years. the reality of the subject is that there ain't a extensive difference between Benjamin Franklin's writing and a Michael Moore movie... If I lived in a rural "crimson state" then i could be called a "libertarian" yet on condition that I stay in a huge blue city i'm called a "cutting-side".

What was the war about, Humanist, in your opinion? Winning or loosing would depend on what one believed our goals were. Can you define them, in order of importance, say, to Bush??

Then we can discuss whether or not we've achieved those goals, the primary ones.

And, remember: We never went to war to build a nation. One already existed. And we didn't attack Iraq because of terrorism.

So, tell me, why did we go? And, have THOSE goals been achieved??

EDIT: "If left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. Should he succeed in that endeavor, he could alter the political and security landscape of the Middle East, which as we know all too well affects American security."

Because it fell out of Harry Reid's mouth (probably along with a little drool.)
You wanna cite Vietnam as an example? When our troops were forced to return home the North Vietnamese had fought their way back to Saigon in only a matter of days....they also sent Vietnamese people to indoctrination camps because of their contact with America and imprisoned them for years. It also allowed for insurgents to enter Somalia and kill over 2 million. Read a history book....better yet, talk to a Vietnam vet and ask if we were winning or losing. My uncle (Vietnam vet) is sitting right beside me reading your question and shaking his head in shame by the way.

Imagine being solder in Iraq and hearing that the majority leader just said that it doesn't matter if you get killed on patrol tonight, because we've already lost the war. If the democrats want to pull the funding, so be it, but don't tell a man or women in battle that we've given up on you. A no class statement, coming from a no class idiot.

Oh I cant wait to see the spin on this. Gates already said the clock is ticking..... I think the first thing to do is redefine the definition of victory and how we achieved that yesterday and get the troops home in reasonable time for the election!!

Harry Reid, 2 hours later, backtracked on his "War is lost" statement because even he realized that he crossed a line and pissed a whole bunch of people off, but I guess that you missed the latest flip-flop huh genius? Typical "shoot-from-the lip" lib.

Why can't harry and the rest of the surrender monkeys understand that it ain't over til its over, and pulling out is surrendering the whole middle east to al qaeda, Ahmadinutjob, and radical (death-to-America) Jihadists.
But, as usual, the dims are willing to sacrifice America's interests and security to accomplish their socialist agenda and ram it up the rest of America's nose.
