Yes definitely the latter.
At least you have a clear conscience because you did your best with the knowledge and means that you had at the time!
Then and regardless of what that person thinks about you, don't take it on board, because that is their problem now to deal with!
You were good enough to help them in the first place!

I concur. People say mean things all the time. Words are words. "Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt." But if someone felt like no matter what good you did or brought to the table, it wasn't enough, thats hurts. You'd constantly feel low about yourself because of this person. This type of person is not cool to be a part of your life, unless you have the power and will to let this be your motivation. Your personal motivation to continue to do the best that you can regardless of the asshole.

In either case--I have a feeling that it was them at fault, not you. You were good enough and you did not deserve the curse. Right??? Time seems to help--I hope it does in your case.
Answer--my opinion--the latter.

I would have to agree on that one. That line just explained the end of my relationship with my ex-girlfriend. It took a while but I eventually got over it. I can't count on people to fulfill my needs because not a lot of people can live up to my expectations. Anyway if someone cursed me out, I would hang up. If someone did it to my face, then I would space out.

Being cursed out would be the worst, especially if done in public. Whether right or wrong, I couldn't tolerate that, and depending on what was said to me, I may demand immediate satisfaction.
On the other hand, trying to please people no matter what is no longer an issue of importance with me. When I am satisfied that I did all I could to accomodate someone, and they aren't or won't be satisfied, my credo is " when I can't please anyone, then it's time to please myself.

It depends.how often would you be .....being cursed out ??just once in your life's together???or everyday??????????If every day for both..then they would be equally as bad ...but if the being cursed out was a one time thing ...then I'm with you and also I'd leave the guy, that made me feel that bad about myself EVERYDAY.........you can never satisfy someone like that so quit trying......there's nothing wrong with you..it's him..move on.....and yes I'm reading between the lines.....was I right?????????????

Both of these questions would upset me. Who ever got this upset with me tells me that the guy was just using me ......someone who truly loves someone doesn't say this or act this way. It this happened to me I would get upset as I said earlier but I would be glad that person is out of my life because that person was a Jerk.
