Some girls' foot seem to bend more in the center for a better arched point where my foot seems kind of flat, any tips? Thanks.

Some people have higher arches than others do, but that's not necessarily a good thing. Your feet and ankles have to be immensely strong for pointe work and a high arch puts much more stress on the foot than a flatter arch. I remember what one of my dance teachers said over 30 years ago about strengthening the foot muscles: a great exercise is to pick up a washcloth with just your toes and to put it back down. Repeat.

It's absolutely fine to start learning ballet. It doesn't matter if you can't point your foot, they will teach you at classes, that is the whole point in going -to learn. You don't have to be able to do the splits to do ballet: I can't and I am grade 6 now. But if you really want to do them, Make sure you stretch everyday but also warm up and cool down else you will be achy in the morning and you might pull a muscle. Also you don't have to go straight onto point, usually teachers make sure you are alright with normal ballet and strong feet before going onto point.

I suggest working with a theraband. There are different excerises you can do to strengthen the muscles. It won't give you an arch. You were born that way. However, you will have strong feet to keep you going. Unlike someone with a high arche.

To work your arches:
stand with feet parallel and take your right leg and cross it over your left with the top of your foot curled under. your two knees should be in fornt and back of each other. then bend your back knee to push your front knee and stretch out your arches

also to strenghten your pointe: place random objects on the floor such as marbles and scarves. use your toes to grab then and pick them up

hope this helps

it might just be your pointe shoes because i have good arch but my shoes dont. YOu could try to break them in more. But if that doesnt work the only way to arch your foot it to point and flex and point and flex over and over. Hope it helps

use a theraband daily for like five minutes. you wont feel a stretch but it is working...the muscles are just to small to feel anything. this has helped me a lot...
