TORONTO: Paul Fromm is at the College of Teachers hearings today, where the College is attempting revoke his teachers certificate on a series of politically motivated allegations.

Paul showed up this morning at the hearing, and 10 Jewish Defence League thugs were waiting with Israeli flags and offensive placards. Once the JDL recognized Paul Fromm, the thugs attacked!

Paul Fromm stood firm and pushed passed the melee and got onto the elevator. Once entering the elevator, two JDL thugs forced their way on along with two police officers. As soon as the doors closed, one of the JDL hoodlums attempted to choke and assualt Paul Fromm.

The police immediatly intervened and pulled the JDL thugs off of Paul Fromm, in the process at least one Police officer was slightly injured.

Two of the JDL assailants were arrested by the Metro Toronto Police Service.

Paul Fromm made it through the JDL mob unscathed and went into the hearing and represented himself with honour, dignity and courage.

In 1987, I was among 5000 people in Nathan Philips Square, Toronto protesting the false accusations and prosecution of John Demjanjuk by Israel. The protest was organized by local churches and human rights groups such as Amnesty International. The Globe and Mail reported the next day that Yogi Bear visited Nathan Philips Square. I cancelled my subscription to the Globe and Mail that day. The Supreme Court in Israel (to their credit) later found that Demjanjuk is innocent. The media coverage for the attack on the 58 year old is part of an established pattern. As your post demonstrates, journalism in the traditional sense is of the word is becoming obsolete with the rise of reporting by citizens in new media. The public doesn't need to be spoon fed pre-filtered news supporting one cause any more.

Because it isn't "news". Uproar!-Riot!-Mayhem! -Now THAT'S news... (it kinda helps to have a few explosions thrown in -too). Most everyday single murders- are like single fatality car wrecks; they might show up in the Obituarys- but that's about it. They're too commonplace to show up on the 11'o clock news... :(
