Plan for the Improvement of English Spelling
For example, in Year 1 that useless letter "c" would be dropped to be replased either by "k" or "s", and likewise "x" would no longer be part of the alphabet. The only kase in which "c" would be retained would be the "ch" formation, which will be dealt with later. Year 2 might reform "w" spelling, so that "which" and "one" would take the same konsonant, wile Year 3 might well abolish "y" replasing it with "i" and Iear 4 might fiks the "g/j" anomali wonse and for all.
Jenerally, then, the improvement would kontinue iear bai iear with Iear 5 doing awai with useless double konsonants, and Iears 6-12 or so modifaiing vowlz and the rimeining voist and unvoist konsonants. Bai Iear 15 or sou, it wud fainali bi posibl tu meik ius ov thi ridandant letez "c", "y" and "x" -- bai now jast a memori in the maindz ov ould doderez -- tu riplais "ch", "sh", and "th" rispektivli.
Fainali, xen, aafte sam 20 iers ov orxogrefkl riform, wi wud hev a lojikl, kohirnt speling in ius xrewawt xe Ingliy-spikingwerld.

I defense on some of them. Yahoo spell check tends to freeze if certain non-alphanumeric characters appear in an answer. It also appears to ignore the source box. That fails to explain most of the bad spelling I see, but is explains some.

Because they can.
and in case you hadn't noticed, you cannot change a misspelled word in a question and edit once it has been submitted.
You CAN change a misspelled word in whatever answer you post.
Sometimes people don't care much about grammar and spelling.
Sometimes I don't either.
This is Yahoo answers.
Not a spellin class.

ok my grammar isn't very solid. Its referred to as being in a hurry & forgetting the basics. despite the indisputable fact that I refuse to apply a spellcheck that barely ever works or highlights a wisely spelt word. person from united states

Maybe I am uptight, but I am so with you on this one. Grammar I could forgive, but the button is right there and so easy to click. I hate seeing all the misspellings.

perhaps they are afraid of it.. or... since this isn't a spelling test, they don't give a tinker's damn.. my spelling or lack of it isn't going to make or break me as a person
