First I have GOT to comment on some of the other answers you have gotten. I cannot believe how close minded some people are about people who are in or have been in jail. That's why so many people don't straighten up when they get out of jail. They have to support themselves and noone will hire them. People go to jail and change all the time, some are lucky enough to catch a break and get a job. But most times, they're screwed before they're even released.
Being in jail for 3 years or longer, armed robbery, and drug use does NOT make someone a bad person! They're called mistakes not "purposes". It all depends on the person. This isn't directed to anyone person, just in general.
Now, on to your question. I think it all depends on the person. Some people get affected by jail more than others. And some people aren't phased by it at all. I'm not sure if being in jail would cause him to not worry about anything though. You'd think it'd make him more cautious about stuff.
Oh, and before someone else mentions it, GOING TO JAIL DOES NOT MAKE YOU GAY! It's not a fact that if you're in jail that you're gonna become Big Bubba's b*tch!

I personally haven't been to jail but sometimes even the most innocent looking people can be guilty... sometimes. Usually the aim of jail is to train you to be good.
If nothing ever worries him in life keep an eye on him. There are things worse than jail.

As a healthcare provider I can tell you that there is no way an experience like that has left him untouched. And on a personal note....why are you not more concerned that you are choosing to be personally involved with a person who evidently is able to be socially corrupt (you didn't say what he did the three years for) and is emotionally damaged.....because being incarcerated does that...always. Spend as much time trying to understand yourself in this situation as you are with him.

A lot is worse than thre years in jail. But you learn to let a lot of things go because they are not worth getting in trouble. You also let a lot of minor things go. You also know that when something happens you are one of the first to get looked at for doing things wrong.

His *** might be just a bit looser then before, try sharing your vibrator with him.
Why would he worry about anything? He knows that you're willing to date a man who has been to jail for three years, so basically you will accept anything. If that doesn't turn a girl away, nothing will.
Oh yeah, in response to angeljade_2005: She has a very high best answer ratio, clearly by sucking up to the person who wrote the question. Mine is almost as high, but I keeps it REAL, *****!!

i went to jail for one day. let me tell you, it was the worst day ever! i learned my lesson. i will never ever drink drunk again. i barely ever drink anymore. especially now that i'm pregnant. but still, going to jail for anything can change a person, if they are willing to change. i used to be a total ***** and didn't care about anything, but now i let things slide.
