What am I exactly looking for? I realize it would be nothing much more than a speck, but does it blink? Does it shoot across the sky or is it movement similar to a high flying plane? Or is it even possible to see with the eye at all?

I think it really depends on where you are located..where im from ,new jersey,I saw it just before the sun rises looking to the eastern horizon then slowly look up and you can see it like a star but you will notice the difference.

It will look like a bright star, not blinking, and will move across the sky at about the same speed as a high flying airliner, taking 5 minutes or so to cross the sky. Use the NASA page in the source to tell you when and where to look.

It moves faster than an airplane looks. It will take less than a minute to span the sky. Check google for its position at anytime and anyplace.

Have a look at http://www.heavens-above.com/ for details of when you can see the ISS and other satellites. You'll need to know your latitude and longitude, which you can get from Google Earth (amongst other places). It's easily visible with the naked eye.

definite that's seen from the floor, although you will could understand the place to look. flow to NASA's website and stick to their training on the thank you to outline the station. there are thousands of satellites in the night sky, sturdy success attempting to perceive it!

it is a fairly bright almost about twice as bright as a star and is moving fast. about 3 minutes to cross the sky
