one of my friends, good friends knew her for about 3-4 years told me that she wouldnt be shocked if one day i came to her and presented her my gf and said "this is my life partner"! and a guy friend asked me if i was extremely sure that i wasnt a lesbian and today another guy friend asked me if i have never kissed a girl and if i'm not bi!!! i dont get this??? i asked him why he asked me that and he said it's because i say that some girls are hot and he feels so comfortable talking to me like a guy! dont get me wrong i'm not that girly but i'm not that tomboyish, i'm a healthy in between both!!! my exs used to ask me the same thing cause i loved protecting them and puting my arm around them, they told me i was the guy in the relationship??? i dont get this? does this scare guys away cause i've been single afor over a year now? what do u think, be honest but nice please :)

I also get that too. I can be girly when I want to be but I'm just more comfortable wearing my jeans and t-shirts. I am not the prettiest but I have had some very nice men like me for who I am in a sexual way. I have several lesbian friends (you meet one and the next thing you know, you have met an entire community. lol) they tease me but they know I am not and I have never had a girl hit on me.
People just like to label. I am a single mom trying to take care of my daughter (very girly) and maintain my own home. It would be a common sight to drive past my house and see me mixing an 80lb bag of concrete for a project.
Just be you. It speaks well of you that people are comfortable talking to you. That is a good quality.

I know how you feel about this because a lot of my friends have said the same thing to me. They would say they could see me kissing another girl or worse. I am very independent and have been known to stay single for some time....I think it raises questions and people have nothing better to do or talk about. I also have a lot of guy friends because guys are so easy to talk to...and I've always had guys around (3 older brothers) I think some men say this about you because it could be a fantasy of theirs....or maybe this girlfriend of yours finds you attractive and wants more out of your relationship....Just live with it, girl.....it could be worse!! :)

Nope, your perfectly normal and fine. Social roles (putting arms around them, protecting them) are defined by society, I'm sure the Amazon woman played the manly roles. I think your being motherly. I don't see that as gay or bi. In fact, more guys might find you more down to earth b/c you don't act girly girly. If you have been single for more than a year, then you aren't looking. Trust me, there a LOT of takers, you just aren't paying attention.

Don't freak out. It could very well scare some guys away. Most want to feel like they are in control and that the are the alpha. This is just human nature.
But, if you were to find a guy like me (not me but similar) you would find that it is alot better relationship because it takes away any awkwardness or any male obligations. When u find somebody like this your relationship will probably be longer and more serious than otherwise. Hope you find him soon.

The image you project is likely similar to the stereotypical lesbian so a lot of people get that impression. If you are just being yourself, try not to let it worry you. There are exceptions to every rule, although you don't actually say how you feel about women. You say your friend hears you saying certain women are hot.
In any case, it shouldn't matter too much. A good friend of mine is completely convinced I'm a lesbian. I find it quite amusing, although I quite like women, I am fairly straight in the end.
You won't be single forever, hun, so just try to be yourself and be happy, and not worry about others' perceptions =)

You have guy characteristics, but that's not a bad thing. It's weird that everyones asking if you're bi or lesbian. You should stop saying that girls are hot and stuff, that is probably why they think that. I don't see anything wrong with saying that, it's just that they are taking it the wrong way.

What I see in this is just that you like to be... ohhh, i dont know if its the right word but "touchy"? I don't know. Like you want to feel close to people no matter who they are. It doesn't mean that your bi... or lesbian. just that your a caring, affectionate person. dont listen to guys... they can be inconsiderate a lot of times. good luck!!

Probably because guys can't be guys if they show "touchy feely" towards another guy. Most guys are homophobic and not compassionate/comfortable with themselves like you are.
