I want to use the free WIFI in Portland, OR, but the WIFI provider said that the reason I can't view pages is because Palm OS 5.4 has Javascript disabled.

I've never had any trouble at all, so long as I'm using a WiFi provider that doesn't require a password.

no, palm's working gadget source code is closed, so theres no way of attending to something. it is straightforward to hack it whether making use of many gadget extensions and third party apps, the main important library being PalmGear.

Palm works really slow in browsing using Wi-Fi like using dialup; it's not worth your time and energy . . .
e.g. browsing using your phone.
