I am making a movie with my friends and Im wondering if It is legle to use music from artists? The movie is not for profit.

Copyright laws are in effect, you must get permission to use the music. Even if it is not for profit, there is the unlikely chance that it will make money. Any money earned from, or in part by, the music means the performers are entitled to compensation.

Not if it is copyright protected.. and it is. Get their permission and give them credit in the film.
