if so that sucks cuz i remember i got one and lost it the next day lol!

The Top Contributor badge is dynamic, and you earn it by being an active participant who contributes quality answers in a particular category on Answers. It has nothing to with the percentages of best answers or levels. Top Contributors are not permanent, you have keep contributing to keep it.

I don't know. I had 10% best answers, I didn't get a badge. Now I'm back to 9.

Yes, and no. I think that is what they intended, but the program appears to malfunction. Some people with more than 10% do not have a badge.

Yeah it suck for the P&S regulars because there are so many answerers here in P&S that it's very difficult to get over 10% best answer, there are not that many top contributors in this section now.
(I'm a Top Contributor for Golf, not P&S in case you were wondering)

I just read about that and it didnt say anything about 10%. They say the badges could come and go depending on your answers and if you get best answers.

I've given up on those thingy's. I had one and lost it, had it again and lost it again.So YA HOOS can keep the dan thing. And btw, NO, I don't think you need ten percent. Just have knowledge in a specific catagory.

I think that if you make enough semi humorous statements about the badges they'll take it away...
Like losing your purple heart 'cause you didn't bleed enough..

yes and when yahoo decides that your pecentage will go down they take away the badge!!! I lost mine too
