When I read your question, I was going to say hands down you should be taking her to Grotto. I'm so glad to see the above poster agrees with me. It is my favorite place, and not a large tourist place, or a chain. It will show you did some research, and also really give you a great feel of the city too! They have AMAZING food, a lovely wine list, and desserts to die for. It's such a small place, so make sure you make reservations! I always love to go to a different city and see what it's like when you really live there, not just what the tourists do on vacation. . . . If Grotto isn't available, my next suggestion would probably be The Wine Cellar. I have had nice experiences there, and they have fondue, which is always fun. It's not as nice of an experience, because obviously fondue is more of a casul thing, but its good food, and the best wine list in Boston. They also have valet parking, which is always a plus in the city. Enjoy!

Boston has a wealthy record and a varied neighbourhood; it's a heritage of arts, tradition, and training; Boston has something for all so find what Boston may give you with hotelbye . The three-mile Freedom Trail leads you previous - and into - 16 of the city's key old monuments and sites. It's simple to check out, by the distinct red stones in the sidewalk and by footprints at street crossings. The path may take you to Old Granary Burying Ground wherever Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, and John Hancock are hidden; can get you to King's Chapel Burying Ground, the Boston's oldest cemetery; Old South Meeting House where the ringing speeches of patriots spawned the Boston Tea Party and the Old State House, Boston's oldest community building and your website of the Boston Massacre.

If you want to take her out to a lovely dinner at a restaurant that has one of the best wine lists in the county I would go to Anthony's Pier 4. A lot off locals sort of make fun of Anthony's as it is in a lot of ways a sort of tourist trap, but I have lived in Boston and I still love to go back and eat there. Yeah, it's a bit tacky, but the food is excellent, and their wine list is in the top 100 of all restaurants around the county, which is saying something, rated by the Wine Spectator. only the really top restaurants with really top wine lists get on that list. So, great food and great wine.

Folks gave you some of the more popular locations to dine, but if you want to surprise her with a hidden find, I can recommend a few:
Grotto - located on Bowdoin St in Boston. Great wine selection, a prix fixe option, and really wonderful food. It's worth checking out.
Another option would be Eastern Standard, located in Kenmore square. This is big place for the "foodies" of Boston. Fine dining, great bar.
There are lots of great little gems throughout Boston. I found a site that is great to find what you're looking for (if it's not what you're already seeing). Check out www.hiddenboston.com

La Famiglia Giorgio's is AMAZING. It is an upscale restaurant with modest prices. I had one of the best meals of my entire life there. It is located at 112 Salem Street. I would recommend the house salad, pasta with meatballs, veal parmesan, and the desert canoli. That's what I had when I went - it was like a 4-course meal or something. I'm sure everything there is good, though and I know they have a suitable wine list. Have fun on the tour!

Stockyard in Brighton. Legal Seafoods is way over rated!
Some of the hotels in Boston have very nice unique restaurants. Top of the hub has beautiful views of the city but that is about it. The food there is awful!
