I have an old bumper sticker that I need to take off my car. It's on the car itself, not on the chrome bumper. What type of solvant will effectively remove the sticker without damaging my paint. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

tear off all the paper.. then get yourself some paint thinner such as kerosene or something like that.. you can even use gasoline on a rag.. but the best bet is to just go to the part store and ask them what they recomend..

Try finger nail polish remover. Test on spot in trunk or elsewhere first. If doesnt affect the paint, use it. It will take the wax off so be to spot wax that area. Use the remover very sparingly. Acetone works also.

Oh, hey! Try a heat gun or strong blowdryer first. If you soften the old adhesive, the sticker will come off. Almost forgot that trick.

wd 40 or rubbing alchol. Have to peal the sticker and soak it for a little to get the glue to loosen.

use a heat gun. It will loosen the glue on the sticker, and you can peel it off. Just be careful not to over heat the paint.

most solvents that will remove it will also remove the paint.
try rolling back a corner an carefully pull back the sticker.
lacquer thinner will generally remove most things all other solvents won't. but it must be used judicially and will sting sensitive hands.
