Because that would be an infringement of not only the Office of President, but Executive Power. In fact, the Surpreme Courts throughout our history have ruled that only under the most dire circumstance must we require a President to speak under oath.

Also, when do you think he should speak under oath? That confuses me. What would be the point of him swearing in every time he has a press conference?

That is why he won't swear under oath. I would like to see the two of them held accountable for the millions in oil and kick backs from Hallaburton. At the same time we need to be in this war. Look what happened when Clinton told the "truth" under oath, cries for impeachment, first president to set up a legal defense fund, lost his license to practice law.

If Bush doesn't go under oath, it is because that is what he is advised to do.

It is a constitution matter of separation of powers. Testifying under oath would mean that the executive branch is subordinate to the legislative. That would be a gross violation of the constitution.
