I have had bad things happen to me and in a strange twist, I am grateful for those bad events (although at the time it was very unpleasant) because it lead me to much better and good things although not immediately.

Things can only get better not worse if you let it, no matter how difficult. Only time will heal.

During the dark days you may not feel like things are getting better.... but they will, trust me!

Go out and try to feel postive, go to the local gym and turn your negative feelings into energy. It helped me through tough times.

Humm...for me it was a quick, unexpected and sudden young romance that came from out of the blue and ended almost the same as it began. I was 21 and he 30. There was no committment but the promise of one because I was quite taken with him in a very innocent way as I was innocent...and had he not had a jealous nature that sent himself reeling. He hung around but with black moods and he never discussed the issue with me. It hurt. I sometime still think he was "the one" even after all these years. My head knows differently but the idea of him still lurks in my heart somewhere. He married on the rebound and she left him after three months. I guess she ran into his black moods too. He married again 8-10 years later at 40 something after sire-ing two children with a woman I believe he knew for a long time. For me, I had to move on and as it turned out I am happy...home, job, children, puppies, and friends. I do prefer it this way but it took a long time to learn that. We were never meant to be is what I've concluded and I accepted that long ago. There is just more to life and the hope of tomorrow.

That truly depends on how long the heart was loved. It takes time, different amounts for different individuals. Immersing yourself in things to keep you occupied helps. Perhaps joining a gym or participating in a sport or taking a class in something that interests you. Good luck and remember, you are not alone.

So sorry Lt. Dan.....

I know from personal experience how bad this hurts. This too shall pass......
I always tell myself that when I'm having a tough time - just try to remind yourself that you won't always feel this way. Someone mentioned jogging.....actually excercise really does help. It's been proven to have a very positive effect on the brain. I myself tried this and agree it does help some. Maybe give it a try if you haven't already.
I hope you feel better soon :)

That is an individual thing. For some years and others days. You need to keep busy and focus on other things. It helps not to dwell on it 24/7. Breakups hurt...Love is never easy.

mend you mean. you can't go back and unbreak it. it's broken and you have to heal it. like a wound. sometimes people heal quickly some dont. it took me awhile to mend. i will always love my ex. always. but i know that i dont have to be with him to love him. and i know that there is someone out there for me. so when i can face the future with that kind of certainty then i can heal.

also i'm wonder woman so i end up breaking the spines of men who dump me. =oP

(((Lt. Dan)))
I'm so sorry!

The best thing you can do is get out of yourself by volunteering or giving of yourself to something you believe in-- and then just time.
Try to learn from what went wrong and be kind with your own heart right now.

It really does suck.
