am i just jealous? top contributers?

Question

i done a bit of looking up on the "top contributers" i noticed a few common characteristics.

1. answers that previously got best answer are repeated (literally copy/paste job) for similar questions.

2. they answer many questions but ask very few (asking cost 10 pts)

3. the ppl that give them best answer chose them because who they are not because of the quality of the question (eg a fan or a contact)

finally id like to acknowledge that although i say this there ARE many top contributers that do try their best.

do u think i am paranoid? jealous? or just lame for bringing up such a subject? wts r opinion?

Yeah, I think you're definitely focusing way too much negative attention on something that has no bearing on real life at all. Move on!

Frankly I have no idea where the "top contributor" title even comes from, and nobody else seems to know either. It just appears one day out of nowhere.

I have seen people copy and paste exact answers to multiple questions. I think it's lazy and stupid, and it doesn't help the person who asked the question in any way, which defeats the purpose of this forum.

That being said, it's a good idea to keep things in perspective. This forum should not be a priority in anyone's life. It's fun to ask and answer questions here, and it can be very helpful, but if you are finding yourself seriously vexed by who gets the title of "top contributor" or who gets a best answer on this website, your priorities could probably use re-evaluation. Step away from the computer and find something that's really worth concerning yourself with.

I don't really know and don't really care, and don't want that orange thing around my neck that is not what I am here for. I think that some of these things you said are so.

I have some ideas and do not want to post them here, but what does it really mean to be a top contributer anyways are they trying to take over the world or is it a group of them that decide who to pick out of one another? I don't know and I don't care.

I do care that when others answer me that I spend the time to make clearifications so that most of my questions that stay are very meaningful now and even later unless for some reason they get removed it will actually maybe make a difference?

1) Not all who are top contributors copy and paste.
2) I don't think it matters how many questions are asked in regards to becoming a T.C., I think it has more to do with the fact the T.C.'s answer, and question within one category instead of answering in multiple categories. I could be wrong though.
3) Did you ever think that they get best answers from their fans because they agree with what is being said?... Ever hear of the phrase "Birds of a feather stick together."?
I wouldn't be surprised if there were a few who feel the need to copy and paste, and whatever else to get the listing of T.C., but don't get yourself bent out of shape about it.

I am not interested in who is the top contributer or how they become top contributers. I am here just to pass time. By the way, ask a question cost 5 and not 10 points. Have you really do your research?

I was a "Top Contributor" for a couple of weeks and now I'm not. It hasn't changed me or my answers. I think the silly orange thingy comes up when you meet formula criteria based on % Best Answers and level of activity. Easy come and easy go, I say...it made absolutely NO difference in my life!

No doubt there are some like that but I am glad you pointed out that not all are like that.
I don't see you as paranoid, jealous or lame but concerned that some bad apples could make the entire basket look bad.

i have yet to figure out the points and why theyre so important. who cares, its just fun answering stuff. you wont win a car will you? if points mean so much, all you have to do is tell people what they want to hear, or find some abstract question and be the only one to answer. i think its more fun to answer honestly, and if you piss people off in the process, even better.

Jealousy is a waste of time and energy.

Be honest and speak your truth. The popularity of what you have to say is irrelevant. That you said it is imporant.
