The staff, should realize that everyone grieves differently. Being forced to grieve like someone else is pretty cruel. I would avoid people that talk about it repeatedly or start giving brief but respectful answers, such as, 'Yes, it is a difficult time for us all, but I just need time on my own to deal with it or have my own thoughts about it.' I would avoid situations where the topic is heard. You may even say that you are sure the principal would want us to remember him by movin on......But, you do not have to allow others to tell you HOW to feel or grieve and everyone's grieving time is different also.

They think that You kids need to be given every chance to express you grief. But sometimes they make it worse by constantly reminding you about something that you have dealt with. They didn't do all this when I went to school, we had a student gun down two teachers and a student. We were able to cope with this ourselves. I think that schools should leave all the touchy feeley stuff for the ones that want it. I think that if you have a different way of coping than what they expect they always over do things.

Obviously, you're upset about it.. Anyone, who knew him or his family would be, that's normal.. But, maybe you should take the help that they are offering you, and give yourself time to mourn, instead of being angry at the school, for not stopping the people that have come in, that are trying to help.
