okay whats up with this, some people say that youshouldn't download from limewire its illigal and you'll get fined and some people say oh yeah i had it for 5 years i never get cuaght so what is it? is it safe to download movies more then one and music or not?

don't do it. it's just generally a bad idea. just because some people haven't gotten caught doesn't mean you wont. it also embeds viruses with downloads and all sorts of bad things.

1) Why is this in HARDWARE? Limewire is software
2) Download stuff you did not pay for is illegal, enough said. Whether you'll get caught or not is another matter.
3) RIAA and MIAA are going after the heaviest sharers as they are the ones violating the copyright by making copies available, so to speak. But the whole point of P2P is "sharing", which means make what you downloaded available to others. If you only download and not upload nobody will give you any bandwidth.

Limewire takes information from other computers (of people who allow it to), so it may not be legal because you're not buying it, or some people call it legal because you're not stealing it, but sharing it.
You have to be careful though, look at the links or titles of stuff you download. I have limewire since a long time, and i haven't got any viruses on my computer, infact my computer works super fast as when it was new.

I dont think it is that safe, my friend has it and there is a lot of viruses that you could get from downloading songs that are in red. If you do download it than put the fire wall on. That might protect you. And I used to have it. there were no finds. And when you fill out the iformation to download it, put fake info so that they cant do anything with your personal Identity.

Anytime you get something for free its usually not legal. If you must steal from the rich, just don't share what you download with other users.

use it i love it...there is nothing wrong with it because the basic is like a "free Trial" but never expires..they have the Pro version for that reason...and i have downloaded many movies and even computer games

it is illegal to download copywrited movies and songs from limewire...you can get sued by the copywrite holders if you are caught....some movies/files have tracking information imbedded into them that give you up....there are many news stories about it....

ok.........if its illegal, who cares? there's millions of people who use it and you're just a blip on the screen. i say if theres that many users, just use it anyway, but i would consider upgrading to pro if you haven't already :)
