It was in the mid 80's and the song is Bruce Springsteen-like. I heard the song today but coudl not remember the name of the movie.

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, just a bunch of beach bums from Narragansett RI who got lucky when Bruce Springsteen discovered them and suggested them for the Eddie and the Cruisers Soundtrack

Toy Story 3 was not dark. Most dark movies are also referred to as "gritty", in these types of movies there is usually a lack of joy and a dark color pallet.

I believe it was the movie Eddie and the Cruisers. I have the soundtrack, only John Cafferty sings it

yea Eddie and the cruisers 1 of the best movies / music ever . not even a real band and did a good job
