The perimeter is 37.8564. You get the perimeter by adding 8, 16, and 13.8564.

The area is 55.4256. You get this using the formula 1/2 times base times height. The base is 8. The height is 13.8564. So take those two numbers. Multiply them, and divide that answer by two. You would then get 55.4256.

Perimeter is easy 8 + 16 + 13.8564 = 37.8564

The Area of a triangle = 1/2 b x h

the base is 8 and the height is 16 so 1/2 8 x 16 = 64

You have to be careful with problem like this.

The usual formula for area for triangle is 1/2 * base * height. Looking at the numbers given, it is NOT clear if we even have a height given or have to arrive at one.

In those cases, you can what is called Heron's formula. With this formula, you can arrive at an area with all sides only. You do not need to know the height.

After verifying you indeed have a triangle, you figure out the half of the perimeter by:

s=(a+b+c)/2 where a, b, and c are the sides.
Then using s, you do:
area=sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))

When you do this, you have the area of 55.4256

WHICH coincidentally proves 13.8564 is base and 8 is the height. (but you didn't know that at the beginning)

well i think the area is 1/2 . 8. 13.8564 which is 55.4256. now the word is hypotenuse. for the perimeter you just add 8 plus 16 plus 13.8564 which is 37.8564. i hope i got it right
