It is a matter of perception and definition. What is terrorism to one group is 'freedom fighting' to another group.
The Viet Minh were terrorists (and American supplied and trained) fighting against the Japanese during WW-2 and later to the French during the First Indochina War but are now the government in Vietnam.
The NLF fighters (Viet Cong, many of whom were former Viet Minh) were terrorists fighting against Diem and his corrupt successors and the Americans during the Second Indochina War.
The Palmach were terrorists fighting against the British in Palestine and many went on to become members of the government in Israel.
Castro was a terrorist fighting against the corrupt pro-American dictator and he and his colleagues went on to become the government.
Look at American history, the people who fought against the British were terrorist, but were 'heros' following American independence.
Violence is often the last resort of people fighting for what people consider a justified cause.

Your question should have say: which countries are supporting terrorism? Because many countries have interest in destabilizing the Occidental world, as much as the Occident need to destabilized the rest of the world to keep is sphere of influence intact! So in another word, what we are experiencing now, is a war of influence, and our world, the Occidental world is gonna changed forever in order to adapt itself to this new reality, which is, we are no longer capable to dominate the rest of the world without paying a dirty price!!

It is miseducation. Not all countries are democratic, or allow freedom to think, speak and learn. Their governments allow people to learn under a controlled environment and this has been going on for years. People that simply don't know any better are passing these views onto their children and the never ending cycle continues. They are hoping to better their lives, like all of us, but have a warped perception as to how to best achieve the desired outcome.

Who the heck supports terrorism? I'm not even sure how the terrorists who do it actually support themselves. I'm guessing they think it's for a greater good in some twisted way.

People support terrorism because terrorism brings change. It may not be the best way of going about it, but to them, change is change...

They want to get their voices/opinions heard, and they want their own way. Its a more radical form of protesting, which often involves violence and threats. Its practically politics, without talking, and more radical and often violent means.
