No, but unfortunately we are neglected by our partners to the point where we look elsewhere, even if we dont really want to

Unfortunately it is pre-programmed in our genetic make up and necessary for the survival of the spieces.

I would argue however that if we can overcome our instinct that monogamy is so much more rewarding.

Difficult to convey this message to most women and more than a few of the "sly" males out there.

If you see birds and animals, monogamy is not natural. All living things observe polygamy. The male is for many.It was the fear of pregnancy and fixing responsiblity of offspring that made modern man stick to mongamy. It also ensured safety of woman. The concept of sex was for reproduction. With the introduction of protective measures, condoms, pill etc sex has become for pleasure. As such monogamy has lost its relevance to agreat extent.People now prefer multiple relation at least secretly.Open sex or free sex has results in increase in STD and Aids.EMT should be very selective,if needed.Variety is the essence of enjoyment of life.

I think most humans have the innate need to window shop. Feeling attracted to other people is part of human nature.

But personally, I love the idea of being with one person for the rest of my life. I'm monogamous now, always have been and I always will be!

Not at all. You only describe those incapable of an adult, meaningful relationship. Marriage exists because it's the best way humans have devised to live and raise families. You might have a better idea, but I doubt it. Humans have tried hundreds of ways to live over the last couple thousand years, and marriage has been found to work best. Yeah, yeah, yeah. People ARE attracted to all kinds of different people, and being monogamous means you only get to have ONE. But, for a real adult, all you need is the RIGHT one.

I am finding it really hard to fathom only being with one person for your whole life....and I really admire those who have been able to do it without cheating or divorcing. It seems like an incredible task these days.
