Yes.
The Patriot Act allows the government to access any information about you without restriction or warrant, IF they deem it necessary. Personally, I think that IF is unacceptable.
Eventually, it will be completely repealed as were the 1798 and 1918 Sedition Acts, both of which had much in common with the Patriot Act.

Yes they did - As for the guy who asked name the part that has violated you - the nazis asked the same questions and if we have learned anything from history it is where the rights of your nieghbor go so will yours
When they came for the sick and the lame I said nothing
When they came for the jews and the blacks I said nothing
When they came for me there was no one left to say anything
9/11 Gave the US a blank check (which they have exausted) to invade and or bomb pretty much anyone they wanted to accuse
For a while they seemed to have used Bin Laden as an exscuse - Someone thought they saw him and the bombers were off . They had a hard time explaining how the great US military couldn't catch a 6 foot plus Arab on dialisis after the President explained how US military stailites could see if your shoes were tied So they dropped that one -
You just don't hear that much on the number one enemy of the US anymore do you ? His role appears to be over in the policy forign policy game
No one would question the need for security - so they re wrote a few laws for instance the US can bow make pre-emmptive nuclear strikes on a non nuclear nation - Mino nukes (anywhere from 1/3 to 2 times the strength of the bombs dropped on Japan are now in the "conventional" dept for use at a General's discretion in the theatre of war
All of this is quite legal - Read the US white paper called nuclear posture review - Quite scary
Wire taps foriegn abductions of persons by the CIA
Arguments over the Geneva convention in regaurds to Gitimo Bay in Cuba - Keeping prisoners off US soil so courts can't get in the way of torture by quoteing somthing inconvienient like laws
This has all been made possible by 9/11
Yes the government has "won" a lot in the way of curbing freedoms you grand father fought so long and hard for you to have

God, I exceedingly much choose i became into stupid adequate to have self assurance you... heavily, if this crap became into actual, guy we would have invaded Venezula, Iran, probably gearing as much as flow to conflict with Canada. Alaska and Texas has been performing somewhat beligerent, better mobilize! If it have been approximately Bush desirous to invade a usa, we would have long gone to conflict with Saudi Arabia alongside time in the past! and don't even get me began on "loose exchange," if a million/2 that crap is actual, then that stupid, S.O.B. Avery and his finished relatives may be ineffective. the government has the skill to kill 3,000 individuals conveniently, yet cant close some zit-confronted toddler up? the subsequent pollyou would desire to have is "How stupid are you?"

Oh God-another nut! Are you one of those who thinks Bush put explosives in the towers to blow them up? If you are then I am sorry...you are deranged. If you are just a dem-then please explain what he did to you, because I am certainly not following. I do not believe any of my rights were violated, so I doubt any of yours were either. Also-if you didn't want to go over there yourself and rip into those people after 9/11 then you shouldn't be talking about peoples' rights. People have the right to go to work everyday and feel safe. We have the right to walk around our towns and not feel threatened. We have the right to get on a plane and not think twice about it. Check Article 4 Section 4 of the Constitution. It says the government shall protect its people from harm. Name one attack that has happened on our (or our allies') soil? Now name the attacks that have been avoided since we have been in Iraq. Think about this stuff before you unload your hatred for the President. I don't agree with him on everything, but I am glad he deceided to stand up for us.

Now you are just being stupid. These conspiracy theory ideas are way too left field.. If any American politician "orchestrated" 911, it was slick willie. Bush didn't have an agenda to take away your rights or to invade Iraq, but the democrats have worlds of reasons to make the republican controlled house, senate , and President look bad; and they will stop at nothing to get their power back.

A version of the patriot act existed in the 1970's. It was forged during th cold war times. The new act just increases the power of the old act, because during the old act all the affidavits were kept secret and stuff, with the new act they are out in the open. So from your point of view, the current patriot act is actually better because everything is out in the open.

Absolutely Not! Being afraid of violating some peoples rights is the reason why idiots like the man who killed 32 people at VT on Monday are allowed to walk around free just waiting for the right time to explode.

And JUST how are our constitutional rights being taken away?? I was in Operations Desert Storm/Shield/Calm, I wished things would have been done right there so we didn't have to go back there THIS time. Now let the military do what NEEDS to be done to do the job RIGHT this time.
