Hello, I am thinking of getting a Bachelor in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to through a state university. What opportunities would I have when searching for employment in the state of Arizona. Please note I will be a ground student I am not taking any online courses. The internship requirements are the same in UOP.

Would I be considered for employment with a degree from UOP? I will probably get my Masters from the state university after completing my bachelor in UOP...

Before you sign up for any course at U of P you need to read the article about themin the New York Times for Sunday Feb 11, 2007. It explains a lot about why they do not get much respect and why so many people would plead with you to attend your respectable local state college or university instead of a "for profit" school.

Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Good luck with your program... we need well trained, competent elementary teachers!

Contact your State Board of Education or the Superintendant of Public Instruction to ask for any specific requirements for teacher licensure. I cannot imagine any reason why your UOP degree wouldn't be useful, as the University of Phoenix is regionally accredited by the North Central Association.

If you want to be a teacher in Arizona (and most states), you have no criminal history and you have a pulse, chances are you can get credentialed. Given the market for teachers these days, a degree from UOP won't be much of a problem (especially at the elementary level).

none because any school needs a paid staff to operate that is why you pay tuition to a collage.
