What is the media’s goal with images of Cho?

In my opinion they make it look like a movie promotion for a summer thriller that is iconic and ppl should imitate this person. All that’s missing is the song , “I’m going down in a blaze of glory.” and the “Movie” voice, and voila’ we have a great commercial to kill at schools. No wonder there are so many copy cats.

Why do we buy this stuff??? Wasn’t Cho’s mission to be recognized? Shouldn’t we deny him post mortum fame by blocking his picture, video’s, and words?

Yes and no. Yes, he wanted the world to know why he did what he did and that was his reason for sending those items to the news channel. I am sure there are a host of people out there wondering why, why there friends were killed, why somone would do something like this, etc. So in some weird way in may answer a lot of questions held by the public and others. Maybe we are feeding into what he wanted but it may serve to help some, so should they be denied closure?

News channels thrive off of rating and sensationalism, so until we stop feeding into it, whatever bleeds will always lead in the headlines. And they will make things look as close to movie trailers as they can, because obviously its working.

Bottom line you the viewer decide what will get attention. If you do not like it tell them. The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

It's still a news story. Everyday, we find out a little more about the kid. We get to sort of find out why he did this. It may help to stop the next tragedy. So, it's worth it to at least look at the material.
