On the contrary, you are more likely to be unsafe if you are, indeed, carrying a handgun. Statistically, your odds of provoking an attack increases exponentially, not to mention the odds of having an accident. If you are not carrying a badge, you are safer not having a gun. Take the V-tech thing, for example. If three people stood in front of the aggressor, and two of them ran away, while one drew a gun... who is he going to shoot? Best leave the gun fights to the cops, and let the vigilantes get themselves killed.

no because eventually if everyone had one noone would really be safe...

~ Consider this: not everyone is trained to properly use a gun (actually practically very few people outside of law enforcement/military are) so when an "emergency" situation occured where a gun was necessary the person (untrained) wielding the gun is more likely to cause more harm than good (like trying to shoot the killer but missing and shooting a bystander, etc stuff like that.)

No. Most people that are shot are shot with their own guns by someone they know. It's only the dramatic shootings that make the news. Remember the TV News motto: If it bleeds, it leads.

In virginia there's always some crazy sh*t going down every 5 years or so. I live in VA Beach and i'm going to get a licesnce to hold. Its better to have a gun and not need one than to need a gun and not have it.

No! There are many weapons available that won't kill.

It's just a question as to when our politicians want to wake up to this, and change the Constitution to prohibit lethal weapons, and allow non lethal weapons.

Maybe at the moment ,but if the gun laws were tightened there would be less threat..ie can you defend a knife easier .. sure can ,bullets go faster.ask yourselves "why are we needing to carry guns".Only you can answer this.

No and I don't. I you don't start no trouble there won't be no trouble. I include life occurrences being your own responsibility to stay out of the way. I don't have to encounter Neocons if I don't want to. I don't either.
